Trapped: 04 SEPTEMBER 2026

Released (actually transferred to another foster): 04 October 2026

We were looking for a Mum and her babies reported by a mail delivery person.

We found no babies, but this cat was hanging around and looked in pretty bad shape.

Is this the Mum? We didn't know but decided to trap anyway.
If it was the Mum, we were gonna have to find those babies fast or just release her.

When you have a chance to help a feral, you gotta take advantage. We got the cat in the trap pretty quickly. Yay!

Well, we THOUGHT it might be the mum at first, but nope, he was clearly a HE.

Meet Pierce.

You can't tell from this photo, but he's a mess.
And he was piiiiiissed.
Well, he WAS a mess.
He is now recovering from a tail amputation.

Sorry Howler.

NEW HOME WHILE HE RECOVERS

Pierce's tail seems to be on the mend, but it is hard to get a good look at him.

Pierce has been with us longer than expected. He is waiting on getting a chip; as he is feral scared, he may have to be sedated first

Pierce's release did not quite go as expected.

He didn't want to go, and I couldn't leave him like that...unfortunately he needed to be released asap so his winter coat would have time to grow... any delay in release at this time could be deadly for him.

So, he was transferred to another foster for the winter.

The really odd thing though is this: I had him for four weeks, he was never remotely friendly, he hissed and swatted and lunged at me the whole time. Litter box cleaning time was a little terrifying.

But he allowed the other foster to pet him.

Inexplicable.
