Unable to socialize; another foster will give it a go. Here is her final update with me.
She was discovered to have had a health issue that would have been deadly, thankfully, the timing worked out just right to save
her life.
She will be with us for socialization; we think she will be adoptable! [see update below]
Well, my initial impressions of Maggie were a little off, she was/is certainly shy, but she is so frightened she will not allow any touching and certainly NO pets.
She is a tough egg to crack; this will take weeks, if not more, to get her socialized.
She is/was always as far back in the kennel as she could get, and would never approach me.
Unfortunately, I have been unable to get beyond her distrust; the first video above shows my initial attempts that were just barely successful.
She has never got comfortable with me, never approached me, even if Churu was offered. And She never improved on allowing touch; If one tried to touch her, she recoiled, hissed and slashed. So... After six weeks of trying, and failing, to gain Maggie's trust, it is time for her to move on.
Either way, I sure wish I could have given her much needed pets and scrunching. Alas.
Good bye sweet girl...I hope the rest of your life is better than it has been so far!
A little unexpected, Maggie returned to us for TNR release; she hung out in the backyard for a bit, and then went on her way.
We hope she stays around and joins the COLONY
We will keep an eye out for her!
