He did not have a regular schedule, so no attempts were made to trap him since he was not seen most of the time.
A few weeks ago (Late June 2026), we noticed he had a limp, and then a few days later, he was holding up his right front paw, not putting any pressure on it at all. Only July 9th, he happen to visit our porch in the early morning. Becky was on the ball and woke me up to see if we could trap him!
Well, when you have a colony of 7-8 cats, but are trying to entice one cat into a trap, it is rather challenging!
First Colby and Sheba were blocking his entrance, then Colby set off the trap. She was none too pleased,
but Colby was released immediately. She scooted off.
I thought Clive would scurry away during this drama, but he must have been very hungry and stayed around.
Eventually Sheba scooted away
Becky kept an eye on the trap and Clive while I tried to distract the other colony cats.
Becky watched him closely from the backyard gate. After Clive gave the situation thought and consideration
'should I go in there and get that Churu???'
Clive decided to finally go in!!
Next step, vet visit for his leg. He will undoubtedly be staying with us for a bit. I'm hoping he is friendly so I can let him out of the kennel.
