Other than Queen Mum aka Honeycomb and Kix, we are unable to identify the individual kittens and assign names. Soon, they will get old enough to have identifying features...we hope! Yeah, I can't even tell if they are little boys or little girls. Alas.

Poor little Pebbles, (misidentified as a girl at first!) still so very tiny at 4 weeks old, it is hard to see him this way...hang in there little boy.

Weighing kittens is important to ensure they are healthy; however, it is a challenge with a feral Mum to remove the kittens from her care. Usually, with a little patience Queen Mum will reluctantly let you take them, sometimes WITHOUT slashing, biting and hissing. Sometimes. Honeycomb is letting me take them without any bloodshed (so far). I will use a spoon on a long pole and put the spoon between Mum and the kitten. I can then gently remove them just for a bit for weigh-ins, socialization and pictures.
The first video below shows the kittens being reunitied with Mum after a weigh-in. All is well.

VIDEO SPOTLIGHT ON HONEYCOMB
Feral Queen Mum's are hard to get to know. They don't want you to be close because they are fearful; if we had more foster homes we could keep all these feral cats inside and I believe most of them would become friendly and a great companion. Unfortunately, due to reality, Honeycomb will be spay, given some shots and then released back where she was trapped.
It's not ideal, but at least she is alive, and will not have to worry about having anymore babies.
Hopefully, she has a consistent 'caretaker'
where she can get food and water.

On September 22nd, we had an additional 'blessed event' - George and Kramer joined the Cereal fosters. For the first week they were separated, but after that, they were a combined group.

We were lucky to have four sweet little kittens, okay, they were hooligans, but it was fun to have them with us.
On November 3rd, all four kittens were transferred to Elmbrook Humane Society, their last step in finding a forever home. Happy lives little ones!
Quisp and Corn Flake, their last day with us. They are so big and strong!
Honeycomb, as expected, was released where she was trapped on 9/23/2025. There are always mixed emotions when an TNR cat is released; certainly they are in much better shape going forward. Honeycomb has had preventive shots, and will not have to worry about another litter of kittens - but she is out there - on her own. I do know she is in a 'cat friendly' location, so she should have food and shelter available, in some form. Have a good life, Honeycomb!
These three kittens were so incredibly tiny. This was how scary their weights were:
Pebbles arrival weight was 194g
Chex arrival weight was 232g
Kix arrival weight was 278g
